Startup advisor Mark MacLoed has compiled a list of the different kind of VCs to avoid working with. VCs like “the banker,”  “the name dropper,” and “the celebrity” will not understand the plights of founders since they have never faced the challenges of running a startup and won’t sympathize with difficult financial situations. “The outsider VC”, “the penniless VC” and the “opaque VC”—those who aren’t well-connect or are secretive about their commitment—should also be avoided.
